It's no "Broadway Danny Rose" territory, but Ronan Farrow has bought himself a little piece of Manhattan. The blue-eyed son of Mia Farrow (and maybe, according to Mia, Frank Sinatra) has settled on a $1.49 million apartment on the West Side of Midtown -- putting the 26-year-old lawyer/activist within walking distance of his new gig at MSNBC.
While it's not as glamorous or historic as some of the apartments used by his estranged father, Woody Allen, in so many of the movies that starred Mia ("Hannah and Her Sisters"), Ronan has a place to call his own. In fact, he has a two-bedroom, two-bathroom flat that, while just under 1,000 square feet, delivers city skyline views and offers access to a communal roof deck overlooking the Hudson River.
Ronan Farrow will no doubt be busy keeping up with the likes of fellow MSNBC co-hosts Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes, but he has the chops to hang with the young, liberal chattering class. Ronan has a law license and worked as a special adviser to Hillary Clinton when she ran the U.S. Department of State.
And, if he needs to blow off a little steam after talking politics and policy on camera, his new digs will provide him with an easy walk uptown to his mother's Upper West Side apartment.

He may play a serial killer on TV, but in real life, Michael C. Hall would rather buy and sell stellar houses in Los Angeles. The "Dexter" star (right) has just sold his Hollywood Hills home for $2.1 million. The 1920s Spanish-style estate was originally built for British actor Ronald Colman, and Hall purchased the property in July 2012 for $1.95 million.
The 4,572-square-foot home at 2092 Mound St., Los Angeles 90068 contains five bedrooms, six bathrooms and sits on a third of an acre. The home features a media room, reading nook, wine room and library. There's also a one-bed, one-bath guest cottage.
According to property records, Hall currently hangs his hat in Los Feliz. But it's not clear where he will land the next acting gig. After eight seasons, "Dexter" has finished its run, but there's talk about a spinoff "Dexter" show. However, producers say the only way that will happen is if Hall agrees to continue playing Dexter Morgan. Hall says he will only agree to continue the series in any capacity after he is presented with a new script.

Despite all the press about what it's like having Justin Bieber as a neighbor -- and there's a lot -- Kourtney Kardashian and clan reportedly bought a home near his place in Calabasas, Calif. Even more interesting, Kardashian and Scott Disick bought the home of former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson -- a vocal resident who spoke out last year about Bieber's awful, un-neighborly behavior.
In June 2013, Johnson said he confronted Bieber for racing through his neighborhood at speeds of up to 100 mph, but nothing happened. "You got a 19-year-old kid feeling entitled," he told TMZ. Perhaps that entitlement -- and the drag racing -- is what led Johnson to sell his home, giving Kardashian the opportunity to snatch it up.
Johnson previously told reporters he feared for his children's safety while they were playing outside. He applauded Bieber's drag racing and DUI arrest this week.
Johnson first listed the home (pictured in the slideshow below) way back in December 2012 for $10.5 million. The house then went through a series of price cuts, dropping to $8,495,000 in December 2013. According to property records, the listing was removed in December 31. A final sales price has not been recorded yet.
Designed by Richard Landry and built in 2011, the house will offer the older Kardashian sister 11,746 square feet of space, as well as 6 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms - plenty of space in case the entire Kardashian crew decides to visit.
Additional home features include a media/game room, theater room, spa room, in-house sound system, as well as a sauna, sunken sports court and pool. Sitting on 1.86 "lushly landscaped" acres, the home includes a gated courtyard, which will offer significant privacy to Kardashian.
Kardashian recently released photos of her former home to online design website Domaine, confiding to the site that she and Disick were planning on moving on from their four-bedroom Colonial.

What's Christina Ricci up to these days? Well, in addition to acting, the actress has been setting the Internet afire with a weirdly interesting new hobby: Shoving herself into small spaces. It's even become a verb, and a hashtag: #Riccing.
Ricci has made some other interesting moves, although these demonstrate she's got a good eye for solid home values. Ricci grew up in L.A. and is the daughter of a real estate agent. That exposure seems to have helped her purchase and sell some fascinating homes over the years.
Ricci especially has a penchant for an exclusive neighborhood called the Oaks. It's there that she bought and sold the Samuel-Novarro House designed by master Frank Lloyd Wright. She also sold a sweet Hollywood Hills Spanish-style colonial in 2009 for $1.475 million. Now the former "Addams Family" star is looking to unload her 1,900-square-foot bungalow in Los Feliz.
Ricci has listed the two-bedroom, three-bathroom home at 5417 Red Oak Drive for $1.695 million. She paid $1.5 million for the place back in 2005.
The home is not quite traditionally decorated, considering the darker hardwoods and intriguing wallpaper that covers the walls of the living spaces. The home has good flow, sports a chef's kitchen as well as the requisite outdoor garden and patio spaces, complete with a pool and spa.

More than 100 world-famous celebrities have partied in its interior and exterior spaces, including Jennifer Lopez, Jay-Z, Michael Jordan, Ricky Martin, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, U.S. Vice President Al Gore, Kim Kardashian, Magic Johnson, Jamie Foxx, Tony Hawk, Venus Williams, Olivia Newton-John, Nicki Minaj, Enrique and Julio Iglesias, and many more.
In addition, The Temple House has served as the location for 100-plus music videos, movies, television shows, private celebrity events, corporate functions, charity galas, and luxury weddings.
The home, which could be re-imagined in any number of ways, is centrally located in South Beach, just steps from the beach, Ocean Drive, yacht marinas, fine dining, shopping, theaters, nightclubs and the ever-hopping Lincoln Road Mall.
The Miami Beach real estate climate has rocketed up 27.3 percent year-over-year, making it one of the hottest real estate markets in the country following the 2008 economic collapse that flattened home values, especially in Florida.

It was a big-time, Big Apple real estate sale that could not have possibly made Annie Leibovitz want to smile for the camera. The famous photographer finally sold her carefully crafted compound at 755 Greenwich St., New York , N.Y. 10014 in the heart of the West Village.
The ivy-covered townhouse (pictured above and in the slideshow below) fetched $28.5 million for Leibovitz, whose financial troubles over the past few years have been well documented as she fought off creditors by exchanging the rights to her photos. Leibovitz (shown at right) originally sought $33 million in 2012 for the 10,200-square foot residence, which was created from three separate dwellings, including two, 20-foot-wide brick homes at 755 and 757 Greenwich St. There was a third unit at 311 West 11th St.
According to The New York Times, the same owner purchased the complex in two separate transactions: The Greenwich Street buildings and an annex at 305-307 West 11th St. sold for $23.5 million and the 311 West 11th St. townhouse for $5 million.
The residence contains seven bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, 13 fireplaces, a garden and patio. Leibovitz used part of the property as her private residence where she lived with her three children and partner Susan Sontag, prior to the writer's death in 2004.
Leibovitz continues to own an estate in Rhinebeck, N.Y., about an hour north of Manhattan.

Slowly but surely, Oprah Winfrey is releasing her hold on high-end Chicago real estate. The TV talk show host turned media maven has listed her last Chicago condo in Water Tower Place for $7.75 million. According to the Chicago Tribune, Winfrey first bought a 57th-floor condo in 1985 for an undisclosed amount. Seven years later, the Tribune reported, she bought the unit directly below it for $1.0625 million.
In 1993, Winfrey expanded her home in the building, dropping $1.5 million for another 56th-floor condo, and in 1994, she finished her Water Tower purchases, buying another unit on the 56th floor for about $1 million. (Her condo is in the skyscraper at right in the above photo.) The listing shows that the units combine to create a 9,625-square-foot residence with 4 bedrooms, 5 full bathrooms and 2 half baths. Winfrey's master suite occupies an entire floor, with "beautiful finishes and fabrics." The duplex has two kitchens, multiple living spaces and "storage galore."
Harpo Productions, Winfrey's multimedia company, is still located in Chicago, but Winfrey's home base is no longer in the Windy City. She apparently chooses to split her time between her homes in Montecito, Calif., Hawaii and Tennessee.

And the winner is ... Ellen DeGeneres! The well-liked entertainer and host of this year's Academy Awards ceremony show has apparently spent some of her handsome fees on one of the most prized homes in all of Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles Times, DeGeneres has made off with Brody House, a classic modern residence that has long drawn the "oohs" and "ahs" from art, architecture and real estate aficionados.
The lover of trophy real estate and well-known high-end house flipper paid $39.888 million for the splendidly remodeled home. [It's located at the A marker above and right next to the Playboy Mansion.] The home, in the coveted real estate neighborhood of Holmby Hills, was said to be acquired in an off-market deal, which puts DeGeneres and her wife, actress Portia de Rossi, in an exquisite new abode right next door to the Playboy Mansion. (The couple are pictured at right.)
While the home was not officially listed for sale, Brody House was sold in 2010 to a mystery buyer for $14.8 million and then refurbished. Private previews took place back in Oct. 2013, when the Los Angeles Conservancy held a benefit at the exclusive address.
The Brody House was commissioned in 1949 by art aficionado Frances Lasker Brody, who had architect A. Quincy Jones, interior designer Billy Haines and landscape architect Garrett Eckbo design the masterpiece in 1951. It has stood as the pinnacle of modernism even in a sprawling city studded with modern homes.
The home is set on 2.3 acres in Holmby Hills and has been called "an essay of modernist glamour. " The home is flooded with light thanks to floor-to-ceiling glass windows that integrate interior and exterior spaces. There's a living room with library area, pristine kitchen and formal dining room.
The entire second floor is made up of a master suite with family room, study, terraces, plus twin dressing rooms. There are three additional bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus four rooms for staff. A one-bedroom guesthouse can be found on the garden grounds, which also features a large motor court, swimming pool and lighted tennis court.
DeGeneres and de Rossi recently bought a $26.5 million spread in Montecito. The couple have also bought and sold homes in Thousand Oaks and Malibu (Brad Pitt's "old" modern). In 2012, they sold their Hollywood Hills estate to Ryan Seacrest for $49 million.
