Just two days after an auction failed to sell Michael Jordan's home, the sprawling, Chicago-area estate went back on the market. Although the auction had a minimum reserve of $13 million, the price tag on the home is now $16 million. The list price is still quite a cut from Jordan's original ask; he listed it in March 2013 for $29 million and later dropped it to $21 million.
Jordan designed the home in 1995, putting a mix of his own touches on the property, including a full, regulation-size basketball court (pictured above) with a locker room, and security gates emblazoned with the historic number 23. But Jordan is ready to move on and told the Wall Street Journal: "My kids are grown now, and I don't need a large house in Chicago."
Besides, he has large estates elsewhere. He constructed a 28,000-square-foot home in 2010 and recently bought additional lots for $4.8 million to expand the home. In 2013, Jordan married his longtime girlfriend and also purchased a coastal home in North Carolina. He is majority owner of the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats and the house is about 30 miles from the team's arena.
Jordan's Chicago home measures a whopping 56,000 square feet on 7.39 acres. The house includes 9 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, as well as a cigar room and movie theater. Outside, the grounds have a golf course, pool and spa.
The home listing is held by Katherine Chez Malkin of Baird and Warner.

It's not Leonardo DiCaprio's apartment, but it might as well have been; the actor spent quite a great deal of time in the three-bedroom Manhattan place. The penthouse at 300 E. 55th St. (pictured above and in the slideshow below) served as the home for DiCaprio's character in the current film "The Wolf of Wall Street."
DiCaprio plays Jordan Belfort, a stockbroker who defrauds investors in a 1990s securities scheme. His apartment centers largely in the film, which is based on a true story. New York's Daily News describes a scene in which DiCaprio and his "cronies" beat up a colleague in the glassy living room for tattling on their deals.
Although the film is set in the 1990s, the penthouse looks completely 21st century, with sleek finishes and appliances. Spanning more than 2,500 square feet, the three-bedroom, three-bath home has floor-to-ceiling windows. Its bathrooms include teak and limestone vanities, and the master bath has a steam shower and soaking tub.
The apartment is located in the Milan, a luxury condo building that has had its fair share of other productions: "Gossip Girl" filmed scenes in the lobby as did "The Good Wife" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm." The $6.495 million listing is held by Ryan Serhant and Peggy Zabakolas of Nestseekers.

realtor.comHIGHLAND PARK, Ill. -- Michael Jordan's 56,000-square foot home in suburban Chicago has failed to sell at auction after the bidding fell short. Jordan spokeswoman Estee Portnoy says nobody offered the reserve price of $13 million for the seven-acre estate in Highland Park, north of Chicago.
Portnoy says Concierge Auctions publicized Monday's auction well, but that market conditions aren't ideal. She says options for the property will be evaluated next year. The former Chicago Bulls superstar's home originally was listed at $29 million in early 2012.
It has nine bedrooms, 15 full bathrooms, a pool pavilion and a regulation-size indoor basketball court. It also features what's described as a "gentleman's retreat," complete with a library, wet bar and the original doors from the Playboy Mansion in Chicago.
Jordan now owns the Charlotte Bobcats.

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. -- Michael Jordan's 56,000-square foot home in suburban Chicago is up for auction. Concierge Auctions says the sale will take place Monday. The company runs the sales of high-end real estate and features Jordan's Highland Park home north of Chicago on its website.
UPDATE: Dec. 18, 2013 -- Jordan's home failed to sell when no bids matching the reserve price of $13 million were made, a Concierge spokeswoman said.
The former Chicago Bulls star's home has nine bedrooms, 15 full bathrooms, a pool pavilion and a regulation-size indoor basketball court. It also features what's been described as a "gentleman's retreat" complete with a library, full wet bar and the original doors from the Playboy Mansion in Chicago.
